STEPS TO OVERCOME YOUR STUMBLING BLOCKS

Even though you feel overwhelmed by that first step, or by the next step, it’s only by taking a step (any step!) that you will feel less overwhelmed. This page will give you some ideas about what you can do when you run up against a stumbling block.

CHANGE YOURSELF FIRST

Your child’s success does not depend upon your child changing their behaviors. Your child’s success depends upon you changing your behaviors. That means taking care of you and your partnerships, not always just taking care of your child.

WORK ON YOUR PARTNERSHIPS

When you run into stumbling blocks, your first step could be to talk with your spouse, your child’s other parent, family member or a friend. Your first step might be to do some reading. Your first step might be to meet with a friend for a coffee! Just make sure that whatever step you take, you do it with an intention. You intend to discover what overwhelms you. Find out if you are overwhelmed for a reason, or for no good reason.

WORK ON YOUR WELLNESS

Use the Content Pages to improve your sleeping habits, eating habits, and screen time habits. You will be a far better teacher for your child if you have learned to improve your own sleeping habits, eating habits, screen time habits, and movement habits.

TAKE A BREAK

Don’t do any of the above. Set up a date with a friend and enjoy an evening out. If you have to, enjoy an evening out via teleconference call!
